Why I Hate Jun Lozada More Than I Hate Pandak
Lozada was in Cebu on March 17 and he didn't have a mass said for him while he was there.
No priest in Cebu would officiate the mass.
Lozada and his supporters said it was because the Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal allegedly instructed his priests not to officiate masses.
Lozada ranted on about Cebu being the “Archdiocese of Malacañang” and the Black and White Movement called the cardinal “a congressman in cassock.”
There is this little thing called the separation of church and state. Holding mass for a person so central to Philippine poly-ticks today would essentially mean that the archdiocese of Cebu would be making a political stand. Not very good.
Not holding mass for anyone in particular would be remaining neutral. Good.
With regard to the “Archdiocese of Malacañang”, if there was mass held, wouldn't it make the archdiocese of Cebu the “Archdiocese of Lozada and company”?
With regard to the “congressman in cassock” statement, wouldn't saying mass for Lozada also merit the same statement seeing as there would be direct involvement of the church in political matters?
Good God.
Lozada pretty much pissed off most of Cebu last week.
As much as I hate our president, at least she doesn't sow dissent on a mass scale and leave the country prepped for civil war.
Putangina Lozada. Ang KSP mo.
And just as a post script, I do hope that Cardinal Vidal forbade the priests from holding mass for Lozada. It shows respect for the line between matters of the church and matters of the state. And for all the nationalists out there, it's respect for the constitution.
